Feeling flat in winter on TRT—could it be seasonal rather than my testosterone?
My TRT routine hasn’t changed, but I feel less motivated and upbeat as the days get shorter. I’m wondering whether it’s seasonal mood changes or a sign my hormone levels or treatment need adjusting.
Winter-related changes in daylight, sleep, activity, and social routines can affect mood and motivation, even when TRT is unchanged; these symptoms alone can’t identify the cause. Note when the change began and whether sleep, energy, libido, or other symptoms shifted, and discuss the pattern with your prescriber before changing your dose. They can consider your treatment schedule and relevant clinical context, while also discussing non-hormonal contributors to low mood. If symptoms are persistent, worsening, or interfere with daily life, seek professional support; thoughts of self-harm warrant immediate crisis or emergency help.
