How do I compare first-year TRT costs with what I'll pay in later years?
Online clinic pricing can be hard to compare when some fees are bundled and others are billed separately. I’m trying to account for startup costs as well as recurring labs, visits, medication, supplies, and less obvious charges.
The first year may cost more because it can include initial evaluation, baseline testing, and closer follow-up, while ongoing annual costs may reflect medication, monitoring labs, and scheduled visits. Ask each clinic for an itemized estimate for both the first 12 months and a typical later year, and confirm what is included in its advertised fee. Check whether shipping, injection supplies, repeat or out-of-range labs, dose adjustments, and optional add-ons are billed separately, and whether follow-up frequency changes the total. Compare the same treatment format and services across clinics, and discuss with the prescriber which monitoring and follow-up are appropriate for your situation.
