A Different Approach
Viagra and Cialis improve blood flow for erections but do not address desire. A man can achieve an erection while feeling zero sexual interest. PT-141 works through an entirely different pathway, enhancing libido and desire through the central nervous system.
How It Works
PT-141 activates melanocortin receptors MC3R and MC4R in the hypothalamus, involved in the neurochemical cascade producing sexual arousal. It increases dopamine in brain areas associated with sexual motivation. The result: increased desire, enhanced arousal, improved satisfaction that PDE5 inhibitors cannot provide.
PT-141 vs Viagra
| Factor | PT-141 | Viagra/Cialis |
|---|---|---|
| Primary effect | Increases desire | Improves erection mechanics |
| Mechanism | Central nervous system | Peripheral blood flow |
| Onset | 1-2 hours | 30-60 minutes |
| Duration | 12-72 hours | 4-36 hours |
| Best for | Low libido | Erectile difficulty |
Dosing
1.75mg subcutaneous injection one to two hours before anticipated activity. Do not use more than once per 24 hours or more than eight times monthly. Most common side effect: mild nausea, reduced by injecting on a partially full stomach.
What to Expect
Noticeable increase in desire and arousal within one to two hours. Effects last 12-72 hours with peak in the first 6-12 hours. Not constant arousal but heightened responsiveness to sexual stimuli. Can be combined with PDE5 inhibitors for men with both low desire and erectile difficulty.
