Before Your Visit
Your first step is typically an intake questionnaire covering medical history, current symptoms, medications, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals. This information helps your provider prepare for an efficient consultation. Some platforms also require baseline lab work before the first visit so results can be discussed in real time.
The Consultation
The consultation itself typically lasts 15-30 minutes via video call. Your provider reviews your symptoms, medical history, current medications, and any previous lab work. They discuss your goals for treatment, explain what TRT can and cannot do, and address your concerns. If you have lab results, they walk through each marker and explain what the numbers mean for your situation.
Lab Review
If labs were drawn before the visit, your provider reviews total and free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, CBC with hematocrit, PSA, metabolic panel, thyroid function, and any other relevant markers. They explain where your levels fall relative to both the reference range and functional optimal ranges, and how your numbers connect to the symptoms you are experiencing.
Treatment Plan
If you qualify for treatment, your provider designs an individualized protocol. This includes the type of testosterone, dosing frequency and amount, any ancillary medications such as anastrozole or HCG, monitoring schedule, and expected timeline for improvements. You have the opportunity to ask questions about each element before agreeing to proceed.
What Comes Next
After the consultation, your prescription is sent to a licensed pharmacy. Medication and supplies are shipped to your home, typically within five to seven business days. You receive instructions for self-administration. Follow-up labs are scheduled for six to eight weeks after starting treatment to assess your response and make any necessary adjustments. Your provider is available through the platform for questions between visits.
